A UX Perspective
RIM Manufacturing relies on specialized machinery and intricate processes to deliver their services, so it was essential that their new website clearly and concisely presented all the information customers need to understand what to ask for and how it will be fulfilled. For the company’s owner, the top priority was showcasing the products their machines are capable of producing. To achieve this, the website features image- and video-rich sections, along with interactive 3D renderings of products previously manufactured by RIM. Users can engage with these models by hovering over the respective sections, offering a dynamic and immersive experience.
A UI Perspective
While blue is a common color choice in the manufacturing industry, its use against a black-and-white layout with grayscale imagery allows the blue accents to stand out with striking clarity. Images and videos are framed in rounded-corner containers that float smoothly within the white space, creating a clean, breathable design. To enhance user experience and minimize excessive scrolling, certain sections are paired with slideshows that showcase additional RIM products, offering more opportunities for users to interact with the content. Descriptions of processes, design systems, and product specifications are organized into easy-to-read numbered lists or collapsible dropdowns for visual clarity. The new RIM Manufacturing website is fully responsive, highly functional, and thoughtfully designed with the user in mind.
