About Peace Burger

In 2007, Peace Burger of Grapevine opened with one goal: to be a low-key, relaxed place for friends and coworkers to come together, socialize, and enjoy.
With DFW International Airport just a few minutes away – Peace Burger is proud to have made a name for itself as a friendly space with amazing food and service.

The Problem

The former Peace Burger website design needed to be updated to follow more recent design trends and the SEO strategy in use necessitated a renewal.

Despite some minor updates, their previous website had not undergone major changes since 2014. For this reason, the aesthetic direction of the website was outmoded and chaotic. The general layout was very simple, yet its navigability appeared confusing and not suitable to an all-age-group audience. The content on the site, along with the Search Engine Optimization, were also in need of some assistance from the JSL team.

Project Goals

Once our team addressed the most critical factors hurting the business’ online presence, we established a series goals that would assist us during the Peace Burger redesign process.

Write engaging and captivating content to attract new audience and facilitate the site’s new SEO plan.
Come up with a design that would harmoniously blend the previously established brand with up-to-date aesthetic norms, all while conveying the sociable and familiar environment of the restaurant.

The Process

Some immediately visible areas of improvement were the color choice and the images and fonts used.

The former website lacked a clear hierarchy of colors, for it used the images as a main source of color addition. The new website is built with areas filled with warm shades of beige and brown on a light themed wireframe. A plethora of sections repeatedly presented throughout the site include a teared paper pattern which conveys the rustic and homely environment of the restaurant’s space.

The images are used as additional elements of interest rather than building blocks for headers or background patterns, and they are orderly displayed in slideshows or floating boxes.

The serif-font used for the titles marries the geometric and clean characters of the paragraphs enhancing the overall modern appearance of each page. An important functionality improvement involved including a secondary navigation in the menu page. This helps to avoid excessive scrolling and makes each menu section available at all times on all devices.

The Results

The new Peace Burger website is one that the client is proud and happy with. It’s clean and renewed configuration is pleasing to the eye, functional, easy to navigate, and accessible from any device, all while staying loyal to the business’ values and the convivial nature of the restaurant.
